Top 6 Moments In V. R6 You Up (Welcome To The War, 1X05)

The original V has a lot of big story arcs that run throughout the miniseries and there’s a payoff to nearly every one. I keep looking out for them in this remake and so far show has taken its sweet time introducing things that are prevalent in just the first couple of hours of its predecessor (Conversion and the Science Conspiracy being the big two). One thing I didn’t count on was development of entirely new story arcs, amongst them the introduction of R6. It’s a big fucking deal, this R6 bitness and yo. The repercussions it could have on our characters? Huge. The V’s are tagging humans. WHY? WHY ARE THEY TAGGING HUMANS?

I love this particular moment because, like the Chad dream, it takes something we know about a character and makes it so how that character feels about what is happening up front and center. Of all the characters introduced in the pilot, Jack’s distrust is most palpable. I knew he was going to be okay after he was stabbed (hello, lead character ain’t gonna die randomly, V ain’t that bold yet) but I had no idea they would use Father Travis and his love for the Visitors as the tool that saves him. Jack is absolutely terrified that he has been cured by the V’s because he knows they aren’t here to help us. He knows that and his worst fear is why they’re really here.
